AHRC International Placement Scheme Now Open for Applications
Please could colleagues remind ESRC students that they are eligible to apply to visit the 
Library of Congress in Washington for between 3 and 6 months. Students receive an 
award to contribute towards their flight costs and a monthly living allowance of �1,200, 
in addition to the existing stipend they receive as part of their ESRC award. Deadline for 
applications if 15 January 2014 at 16.00. For further information, please see:

ESRC / POST Fellowships Open for Applications
Please could colleagues remind ESRC students that they are eligible to apply to be 
seconded to POST to assist in producing independent, balanced and accessible analysis 
of public policy issues for Parliamentarians. The scheme is open to any ESRC-funded 
PhD student in their 2nd or 3rd year in 2013/ 2014 (or part time equivalent). Fellows 
will be supported by a three month funded extension to their PhD. Additional financial 
support is available to cover travel or accommodation costs if the successful applicant is 
usually based outside of London. All eligible candidates will be assessed through a 
competitive application process. The closing date for applications is 5pm on 13th
