Collaboration case study: Patrick O'Hare, Social Anthropology - CSaP

Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP)

During the past 12 months, I carried out a 3 month ESRC supported internship at the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP). CSaP is a public body, as it forms part of the University of Cambridge. The internship formed part of a continuing collaboration between the ESRC Cambridge DTC and the CSaP.

While at CSaP, my responsibilities included organising a policy workshop on Innovation and Technology in Agriculture, for which I collaborated with partners in the Sainsbury Laboratory, NIAB and Agri-Tech East. The event broad together policy-makers, academics and private sector actors to discuss how the South East could be strengthened as a global leader in agri-tech.

As part of my internship, I also helped to organise a policy workshop centred around the geographer Susan Owens’ latest book; assisted the CSaP-HMT seminar series; and helped with preparations for CSaP’s annual lecture and senior policy fellows’ workshop.
